France is one of the most important wine producing countries in the world. (If you don’t believe that just ask them.)  An in-depth knowledge of French wine is critical to really be a serious wine student or if you just like French wine and want to learn about it.

In this course you will taste 40+ wines and receive more than 750+ pages of educational material, designed just for this course. All of our class materials are update yearly so our students have the most current information available.

These are the most important wine regions in France representing more than 80% of all of AOC/AOP (the highest quality level) wine produced in France.

  • Loire Valley
  • Champagne
  • Alsace
  • Burgundy
  • Beaujolais
  • Rhône Valley
  • Bordeaux

You will also learn about:

  • Geography and terroir
  • Wine production techniques by wine type, style and appellation
  • Wine growing and obligation requirements for each Appellation in the regions studied
  • How to use vintage data, and the Guild’s proprietary Wine Style Charts by Appellation
  • Wine character data, by appellation
