This course is a complement to our other Advanced Regional courses: France, Italy and Europe. This New World wine course covers countries “discovered” after 1492 because wine is a Eurocentric invention and was not consumed in any New World country until the Europeans arrived – besides the exception of the “Nouveau-New World.”
You will taste 40+ New World wines as part of this course.
You will learn:
Climate, geography and terroir.
Wine production techniques by style and region in each country.
How to use vintage data, by country and region in each country.
Also, wine growing and obligation requirements for each Appellation in the 9 countries studied.
This Course meets one night a week, from 6:30pm to 10:30pm, for 10 weeks.
